Courtney specializes in working with young professionals, women in the corporate world, and individuals and couples facing complexities related to family planning. Courtney’s practice is rooted in a strengths-based, client-centered approach, and she works collaboratively with her clients to foster resilience, empowerment, and personal growth. Having worked in the corporate world as an Employee Relations specialist for over a decade, she is also well versed in career development, meditation and stress management techniques. With a particular focus on young professionals and women’s mental health, she is passionate about supporting her clients in achieving balance, emotional well-being, and fulfilling careers while navigating the pressures of modern life.
Courtney Bamford is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Courtney earned her undergraduate degree from Carleton University and is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Yorkville University. Courtney has also received certifications in Alternative Dispute Resolution and has completed specialized training in supporting women in the workplace, including mentorship and leadership programs.
Courtney’s therapeutic style is integrative, blending elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to address the mental, emotional, and relational aspects of her clients’ concerns. She combines a warm, empathetic presence with practical, solution-oriented strategies, empowering her clients to move forward with clarity and confidence.
Courtney believes that every person has the capacity for growth and transformation, and she strives to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. Her work is grounded in a belief that mental health is a crucial component of overall well-being, and she is deeply committed to breaking down the stigma around seeking therapy and support, particularly in the context of career pressures and reproductive health.
Outside of therapy, Courtney enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, watching reality TV and taking drop in Ballet and Yoga classes.
